Africa Vacation

You have to be prepared well in advance of your trip. This means that you need to make sure that everyone in your party has a passport, and all the information is current. You also must get travelers insurance, in case you have an accident and get injured or sick. Your health insurance provider may offer health insurance for overseas travel, but if they don’t, you will have to find some on your own. You should also check the area that you are going to be visiting for diseases that may not be common where you live, but are in Africa. One of these is malaria, spread by mosquito bites. You need to visit your local healthcare provider, and get a booster shot to cover all your bases.

The next thing you need to be aware of has to do with safaris. While safaris are open to just about any age group, there are some things you have to prepare for. These safaris can be anywhere from four to fourteen days long. While many are all inclusive, there are things that are not covered. Gratuities, extra taxes, and transportation to and from your departure point are not covered. While children are welcome, babies and toddlers may not enjoy the long days, extremes in weather, and physical activities that are involved with some of these excursions.

It is important to remember though, that many destinations and accommodation types across South Africa, cater for all types of requirements. You can experience Africa from a 5 star luxury bush lodge to camping, as well as a whole range of other options.

From safaris across the open plains, to the buzzing cities of South Africa, which are comparable to any western city, to the amazing tropical coastlines, right up the mountain peaks. This simply is an incredible vacation destination.
